I'm Back!

I'm back in Indiana after shooting a wedding in Iowa, taking a week-long vacation with my hubby, picking up our kiddos from my parents' house and driving all the way back home. My husband and I had a really great time. We were able to actually hear each other, do "couple" things, and just enjoy some time alone for a few days. But it was nice to get back to our kids as well.

There is laundry in the washer and dryer upstairs, the trip snacks have all been put away, and my kids are in their rooms for quiet/nap time. On the other hand, the table hasn't been cleaned from lunch, the kitchen floor needs swept, the grocery list has only just been started, clean clothes need to be put away, the van needs to be thoroughly cleaned out, and general trip unpacking has yet to happen. At least I've gotten a few things done, right? :)

We've never been out of the house for this lengthy of a time period before (11 days) and I had no idea those little dust spiders (that's what I call them) could take over the corners so quickly! I also had no idea that toilets could get dirty without being used! Apparently I do a little more housekeeping than I think I do when we're home....which is kind of a nice feeling.

On a more personal note, I went online today and discovered that I'm now 26 weeks pregnant. Did I need to go online to figure that out? Well, probably not. But my calendar is upstairs and I'm way too lazy to go and check it. Anyway, the 26 week thing sort of threw me off as I was certain I was closer to 23 or 24. But I guess being out of town and forgetting about all things normal has caused me to forget life as I know it.

I'm feeling extremely sore all the time with this pregnancy. My midwife says that's common once you get past the 3rd pregnancy, but I happen to think it may have more to do with the distance between my children than the number of pregnancies I've now encountered. Either way, I'm so grateful to know that our little one is doing well and continues to grow inside me...even if it does mean sore ligaments for me. Speaking of the little one, this child DOES NOT SLEEP. I'm not even kidding. If I'm awake, the baby is awake. If I'm asleep, the baby is awake. If I'm up running around, the baby is awake. If I sit down to rest, the baby is awake. IT'S. CRAZY. I do hope this isn't a sign of things to come....

I've been pondering, as of late, the direction I'd like to take with this blog. As my life becomes busier and busier, I find it easier to blog about my kids, my husband, my....everything, and more difficult to blog about great coupons finds, recipes, etc. I still definitely enjoy those things, but the time factor to blog about them just seems to become more and more difficult. I haven't quite decided where all of this pondering will lead but I thought I'd give you a heads up.

I've had mostly favorable comments about my recent beginnings of "Not Me! Monday" posts, so I plan to continue those. And to the one anonymous commenter last week, I'm sorry that you did not enjoy reading my post. I suggest skipping over those from now on if you prefer not to read them. As I mentioned in my previous paragraph, this blog may begin to show more of me and less of other, so if you aren't big on what the real me is...well....I'm so sorry. And as a final note on that topic, commenting anonymously (unless you simply cannot figure out the system, like my mom) is considered cowardly and rude in the blogosphere. Especially when leaving negative comments.

To the rest of you....sorry for my short rant. :)

I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful summer weather!

Glad you made it back safely! :) Not that I haven't enjoyed the tips, but I do like reading about people's personal lives online (I'm really nosey). It also helps me feel like less of a slacker aunt if I actually know about funny things my nieces and nephews have done! (And yes, it's rather sad that we live about two steps away from each other...)

P.S. Rants are very entertaining!

Nice to have you back. I had to go back and read your "not me Monday" and see why someone would have not wanted to read it...then I got to the part about pants crapping and realized that perhaps that is what anonymous was talking about. I guess knowing you personally has its benefits. For the unknowing reader, that may be to much info :) I love the pictures of the tulips from your trip...beautiful!

I am with you on the ligaments, but BabyJacob is always sleeping. So, I was thinking the same thing as you... what does this mean later down the road when he decides to meet the world.
