If I had a quarter for every time someone asked me how we manage to survive on a $200 monthly grocery budget, I'd be rich! Well, okay...maybe not rich. But we'd at least have a lot of quarters sitting around!
One of the ways we save money is by NOT purchasing jarred baby food. For starters, it's outrageously expensive. Aside from that, it's runny, stinky, and downright gross if you ask me. We prefer to use the food processor for the first month or two that our babies eat food. After that, they just learn how to chew and eat table food with the family.
The other day, I decided it would be fun to document my baby's lunch. We had leftovers that day, so leftovers is what she got....just like the rest of us.
12:35pm - She's fussing about me taking a picture and wants to eat it NOW!
12:40pm - Five minutes have passed and there's no sign of quitting. She's again wondering what is going on with the camera.
12:46pm - Lunch is completely gone!
12:48pm - Don't forget to top it off with some milk, Mom!
Alright, maybe that wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be. Lol.

Wow! Either that is a lot of food or I am seriously underfeeding my 9 month old!
If I put that much food in front of my son, he would throw most of it on the floor. He thinks if he's not eating it right that second, the floor is the best place to put it.
So I just give him a little at a time. Maybe that's why it doesn't feel like he's eating so much.
I think it's great your little one has such a healthy appetite. I also don't buy the jars of baby food, I made my own too. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be and it's much cheaper.
NANCY: All of our kids have pretty much eaten like this. LOL. Of course, we oftentimes feed it to them (to avoid all the food falling into the high chair), so perhaps that's why your son is not eating so much. And every kid is different.
Of course, some kids just like to throw their food on the floor! Thankfully, we have not gotten to that stage yet with this one. :)
Every baby is different that is for sure! But it's nice to have a good eater, less worrying for mama. We never used jar baby food either. My 2nd child didn't eat food until he was 11 mos old. Breastfed only.
No picture of the happy baby afterwards?
HUBBY: Did not even think of that! Just picture chubby cheeks and that will pretty much cover it! :)
